Post-tensioning device for level crossing slabs
The post-tensioning device for level crossing slabs replaces the conventional retaining structure, it prevents the separation of the level crossing slabs and is independent of the sleeper position.
The principle of the solution is described above. Fundamentally it is a tie rod that runs under the slabs and is tensioned with a nut and disc spring assembly.
The illustration shows the solution for the outermost slabs where the tensioner is situated just beyond the heads of the sleepers.
The tensioner for the level crossing slabs in the middle contain a tread plate for the protection of loose couplings.
Scope of use
The post-tensioning device for level crossing slabs can be applied to all heavy rail universal level crossings of Netherlands containing NS90, 14-002 and timber sleepers. Suitable for universal level crossings model Model ’98.
